Way to the castle

By bus or car to Hohenschwangau.

You pick up the tickets in the ticket center. Hohenschwangau Castle is close to the ticket center.

To Neuschwanstein Castle ... go on foot (approx. 40 minutes),
with the carriage to just under the castle
or use the bus service (drive to Marienbrücke, from there 10 minutes on foot).

Mary bridge

We recommend after the tour to walk to the Marienbrücke (Mary bridge).

• From there you will see Neuschwanstein Castle, the lake area up to Halblech – a tremendous and unforgettable view.

• Please note: because of essential renovation work, the bridge might be closed until Oktober 2022.

Pöllat Gorge

The hiking trail through the Pöllat Gorge is newly renovated and particularly impressive. The Pöllat Gorge is not accessible in winter. According to information from the Tourist Information Office in Schwangau, the Pöllat Gorge is currently closed due to the risk of rock falls.
